    The company begins with project-management expertise, technology partnerships and a focus on the needs of nonprofit organizations.

  2. The iCARE breakthrough.

    A cloud validation tool for IRCC-funded agencies evolves into CARMIS Lite and simplifies complex bulk-upload reporting.

  3. National needs, national reach.

    CARMIS supports data requirements arising from the Syrian refugee response and expands to serve refugee-claimant programs across Canada.

  4. Women-led innovation receives federal support.

    NSD Tech becomes a recipient of the Government of Canada’s Women Entrepreneurship Fund, supporting CARMIS innovation and women in STEM.

  5. CARMIS becomes a broader SaaS platform.

    Microsoft Founders Hub and Government of Canada support help expand automation, housing and employment modules, and French-language capabilities.

  6. Commercialization with a human-centred lens.

    Manitoba funding supports CARMIS commercialization, while Harvard Design Thinking certification sharpens the platform’s approach to product design.

  7. Recognition—and wider reach.

    CARMIS grows coast to coast and is recognized by PrairiesCan, United Way Winnipeg and World Education Services.

Founder & CEO

Sumegha Gupta

Sumegha is a technology leader with more than 20 years of experience across public, private and nonprofit sectors. One of the most meaningful chapters of her journey has been architecting CARMIS—Canada’s leading AI-powered case management platform built specifically for nonprofits.

She has collaborated with more than 100 nonprofits globally and has been recognized by the Government of Canada and the Province of Manitoba, with support from Microsoft. A four-time nominee for RBC’s Women of Influence, she continues to advocate for women in STEM.

Sumegha holds an MBA from Symbiosis and a Design Thinking certification from Harvard. She is passionate about building technology that serves people and creates lasting, inclusive impact.

Nitin Gupta

Nitin brings together finance, technology delivery and change-management discipline. With an accounting foundation, an MBA in eCommerce and PMP, Prosci ADKAR and ITIL credentials, he turns complex ideas into practical plans and dependable operations. As co-founder, his strategic judgement and steady problem-solving have helped CARMIS grow from an early reporting tool into a platform serving organizations across Canada.
